On June 18, 2003, the quiet community of Coaling, Alabama, was disturbed by a grim discovery. The body of 21-year-old Jeremy Lee Opie Dunn was found in a wooded area near a railroad bridge off of Dudley Road. The young man, known to some as "Opie," had been bound and shot, a violent end to a life cut short. In the hours leading up to his death, Jeremy had been seen walking to a store in the nearby Holt community, less than an hour before his body was located.
