On September 15, 2015, 43-year-old Gary Randolph "Sam" Hazelrig and 36-year-old Rasha Breann Sherrer were found shot to death at Hazelrig's residence on Deavers Town Road in Cleveland, Alabama. The Blount County District Attorney's Office reported that the victims had been held captive, beaten, and shot multiple times during a robbery.
