Two days after she was reported missing, Cary Palmer Adams' body was found by hunters in a remote wooded area near Childersburg, AL.
Cary and her husband Chip, along with their 9-year-old daughter, traveled from their Chipley, FL, home to visit relatives in Coosa County for the July 4th weekend in 1998.

On the evening of July 4th, Cary attended a party with friends at a residence off U.S. 280. Around 2:00 a.m., Cary reportedly told friends she was going to walk to the residence where Chip was staying with relatives, which was located near the Hanover community.
