In the summer of 2016, the life of a 47-year-old Tuscumbia woman, Wanda S. Ivey Wallace, was tragically cut short. On Sunday, June 19th, this mother of two became a victim of fatal gun violence. The incident that led to her death unfolded at a residence on Blue Road in Tuscumbia, where she was shot with a 9mm pistol.
The grim details of the aftermath came to light when authorities located her body in Jackson County.
There, they discovered her 55-year-old boyfriend, Timothy Warhurst, attempting to conceal the crime by digging a shallow grave to bury her. Her body was found inside the trunk of a car. This discovery led to Warhurst's immediate arrest in connection with her death.
Following his apprehension, Timothy Warhurst was officially charged with the murder of Wanda Ivey Wallace on Tuesday, June 21, 2016. He was subsequently held on a one million dollar bond. It was also reported that there had been a history of violence in their relationship, with Warhurst having been previously charged with assaulting Wallace.
