Durval Martins, a 35-year-old resident of Washington, D.C., was shot and killed in the early hours of December 16, 2008. The incident occurred at approximately 3:06 am at the intersection of 11th and Q Streets NW. Responding to reports of gunfire, Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) officers found Martins with multiple gunshot wounds, including several to the head. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
