Telvin Kimbrough, 21, was a Black male from Pine Hill, Alabama, whose life ended in a burst of violence on February 3, 2017, after a shooting at M & M Pool Hall in Pine Hill. What emerged from local reporting was the picture of a day that had already gone wrong before the gunfire ever started. Police said the shooting grew out of an argument between Kimbrough and another man earlier that same day, and by the time the confrontation reached the pool hall, the disagreement had turned fatal.
