On February 5, 2017, 38-year-old Alex DeWayne Bedwell was fatally shot in the parking lot of Emory Woods Condominiums in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. The incident stemmed from an ongoing dispute over a woman between Bedwell and 25-year-old Dillon Michael Lee, both residents of the same apartment complex. Witnesses reported that the altercation escalated, leading to Lee shooting Bedwell multiple times. Bedwell was transported to DCH Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
