In the spring of 2017, the life of John Lewis Kennedy, a 20-year-old Black male, was tragically cut short in Birmingham, Alabama. On the evening of Friday, April 14, 2017, Kennedy was shot and killed in the Loveman Village public housing community. The incident was one of a number of homicides that plagued Jefferson County that year, contributing to a growing list of unsolved cases.
