On September 3, 2017, at approximately 2:30 a.m., law enforcement responded to a violent incident at the Southern Oaks Trailer Park on Crabtree Road in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Upon arrival, officers discovered 38-year-old Calvin Darnell Pruitt Jr. deceased from multiple gunshot wounds. Nearby, a 39-year-old man, later identified as Ezzard Prince, was found severely beaten and was transported to DCH Health System for treatment.
