On June 9, 2018, 20-year-old Hope Michelle Trapp and her friend, Logan Douglas Lambert, also 20, were found deceased at a walking track in Cook Springs, Alabama, near U.S. Highway 78. Both were residents of Pell City. Authorities determined that the pair had been fatally shot during an altercation at the location.
