On February 27, 2010, at approximately 8:46 p.m., Marquis Wade, a 20-year-old resident of Washington, D.C., was shot and killed in the 300 block of Parkland Place, SE. The incident took place on a Saturday evening, with Metropolitan Police Department officers responding to reports of a shooting. Upon their arrival, officers found Wade lying on the sidewalk, suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead shortly after their arrival.
