In a Montgomery, Alabama neighborhood on Mother's Day, May 12, 2019, a heated family argument culminated in the shooting death of Cedric Lee Hubbard, age 45. The conflict began earlier in the day over money and escalated to the point where Hubbard, who was intoxicated, threatened a female family member. This led to further confrontation when his nephew, Kendall Tewayne Johnson, and his cousin arrived at Hubbard's residence.
