Nicholas Daniel O'Rear, a 33-year-old police officer from Kimberly, Alabama, lost his life in the line of duty on February 5, 2020. The incident occurred during a vehicle pursuit on Interstate 65 South near Old U.S. Highway 31. The pursuit began when a Warrior police officer attempted to stop a vehicle for an expired tag, but the driver refused to stop.
