On June 15, 2011, at approximately 1:05 a.m., Marcellus J. Darnaby, aged 32, was shot and killed in the 300 block of Delafield Place, Northwest Washington, D.C. The incident occurred in the early hours of the morning, with reports of gunshots leading to the police response. Upon arrival, officers found Darnaby suffering from a gunshot wound. He was quickly transported to a nearby hospital, but tragically succumbed to his injuries.
