This led to the identification of Charles Lawrence Grimmett III and Andray La'Quarn Pope Jr. as the primary suspects in the murder.
Within days of the incident, authorities apprehended Charles Grimmett III, who was reportedly caught fleeing the scene on foot. He was subsequently charged with murder and held without bond. Shortly after, Andray La'Quarn Pope Jr. was also taken into custody and faced the same charge.
