For almost two years following the shooting, Woods clung to life. The initial violence of that April day led to a prolonged period of suffering, which he endured until January 30, 2013. On that winter day, Jonathan Alonzo Woods, a male, succumbed to the grievous injuries he had sustained in the shooting. His death was officially ruled a homicide, a delayed but direct result of the violence that had shattered his young life.
