In the late hours of an August night in Georgiana, Alabama, a dispute turned deadly, leaving a local man slain. On August 25, 2022, 36-year-old Darren Donnell 'Trapp King' Stallworth, a Black male, was fatally shot. The incident occurred at approximately 11:30 p.m., prompting a 911 call to the Georgiana Police Department about a person who had been shot.
When officers arrived at the scene, they discovered Stallworth suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the location. Investigators determined that the shooting was preceded by a physical altercation between Stallworth and another individual. The confrontation escalated, tragically ending in gunfire.
Following an investigation into the events of that night, law enforcement officials identified a suspect. The individual was taken into custody and subsequently questioned about their involvement in the altercation and shooting. An arrest was made, and the suspect faced a charge of murder.
A resident of Brewton, Alabama, Stallworth was known in his community as a handyman and was employed by Pioneer Mobile Homes. In the wake of his death, his family, including his daughters, organized a fundraiser to help with funeral expenses. Funeral services were held in Georgiana, where family and friends gathered to pay their final respects.
