On January 11, 2023, 40-year-old Joseph David Williams, a resident of Hope Hull, Alabama, was fatally shot in a domestic-related incident. The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office responded to a call around 9:00 p.m. at a residence in the 200 block of George Drive, where they discovered Williams deceased from a gunshot wound. The suspect, 40-year-old Terry Brandon Cumbie of Pike Road, was present at the scene and was taken into custody without incident.
