In Atmore, Alabama, on the night of February 20, 2023, the life of 16-year-old Janyia Wilson was tragically cut short. A sophomore and volleyball player at Escambia County High School, she was fatally shot while sitting in a vehicle. The incident occurred near the intersection of Carver and Ashley streets.
