On April 6, 2023, in Florence, Alabama, authorities discovered the bodies of 39-year-old Virginia "Ginger" Rosemary McDougal and 58-year-old Dwayne Pigg in what was determined to be a murder-suicide. Family members found McDougal unresponsive inside their home on Arnold Lane, prompting a response from the Lauderdale County Sheriff's Office.
