On May 14, 2023, in Roanoke, Alabama, 22-year-old Dwight Lamar Poole was found deceased inside a vehicle, the victim of a gunshot wound. The Roanoke Police Department responded to the scene and initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death. This incident marked the third suspected homicide in Roanoke that year, following two previous fatal shootings in January and April.
