In the late spring of 2023, a young man's life was tragically cut short in Dallas County, Alabama. Kobe Campbell, a 22-year-old male, was fatally shot on May 16, 2023. The incident occurred in the front yard of a residence located in the 700 block of Circle Drive. According to reports, Campbell had just exited a home when he was struck by multiple gunshots. He succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
The Dallas County Sheriff's Office launched an investigation into the homicide.
Despite their efforts, the case has remained unsolved, with no suspects publicly identified or arrested in connection with the shooting. The circumstances surrounding the murder have left both law enforcement and the community searching for answers and justice for the young victim.
In an effort to generate new leads, authorities have sought assistance from the public. Central Alabama CrimeStoppers initially offered a $1,000 cash reward for information that could lead to an arrest. Later, this reward was increased, and the office of Governor Kay Ivey added an additional $5,000, bringing the total potential reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the perpetrator or perpetrators to $7,500. Investigators continue to urge anyone with details about the case to come forward.
