On a summer evening in Montgomery, Alabama, the life of 19-year-old Darnell Eaves was tragically cut short. On Wednesday, June 21, 2023, law enforcement responded to a shooting incident at approximately 9:30 p.m. in the 300 block of Atlanta Highway. Upon arrival, they discovered two victims of gun violence.
Darnell, a resident of Elmore County, was found with life-threatening injuries and immediately transported to a local hospital for medical attention.
Despite the efforts of medical personnel, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead. The other victim, 21-year-old Gregory Penick, was pronounced dead at the scene. Darnell was born on December 16, 2003, to Rodney Darnell Eaves and Angela Wynett Eaves.
