In Montgomery, Alabama, on the evening of April 7, 2024, the life of 52-year-old Christopher Manuel was tragically cut short. The Black / African American man was the victim of a fatal shooting that occurred near the intersection of Mobile Highway and West South Boulevard. When first responders arrived at the scene, they found Manuel with a gunshot wound.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
For a time, the circumstances surrounding Manuel's death remained a mystery, with no immediate information released by the Montgomery Police Department regarding a potential motive or any suspects. The case, however, was actively investigated, and a breakthrough came the following month. Law enforcement officials identified 18-year-old Keeshar Henderson as a suspect in the shooting death of Christopher Manuel.
A coordinated effort between the Montgomery Police and the U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force led to Henderson's capture in Minter, a community in Dallas County. Following his apprehension, Henderson was charged with capital murder. He was then transported to the Montgomery County jail, where he is being held without bond.
