On the morning of November 23, 2023, Etowah County Sheriff's deputies responded to a domestic dispute involving a shooting in the 2000 block of Jackson Trail. Upon arrival, they discovered 49-year-old Andrew Cornelius Weldon suffering from a gunshot wound; despite lifesaving efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
