In the spring of 2015, a burst of violence shattered the afternoon calm in a Northeast Washington, D.C. neighborhood. On Thursday, April 23rd, at approximately 1:30 p.m., the sound of gunfire echoed through the 4300 block of Gault Place, NE. When the chaos subsided, 49-year-old Charles David Hatcherson, a male resident of Southeast Washington, was discovered unconscious, having sustained an apparent gunshot wound.
Emergency services were summoned to the scene, but despite their efforts,
Mr. Hatcherson succumbed to his injuries. The Metropolitan Police Department promptly launched a homicide investigation into the fatal shooting. In the days that followed, authorities publicly identified Hatcherson as the victim of the deadly incident.
The investigation into the death of Charles David Hatcherson remains open. Law enforcement officials have appealed to the public for assistance, offering a substantial reward of up to $25,000 for any information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for this crime. To date, no arrests have been announced, and no suspects have been publicly identified in connection with the case.
