On a Friday evening in the spring of 2015, a young life was tragically cut short on a street in Northwest Washington, D.C. Seventeen-year-old Anthony Davon Benson, a male from nearby Oxon Hill, Maryland, was in the 5700 block of Georgia Avenue NW when gunfire erupted at approximately 7:12 p.m. on May 1st. D.C. police officers who were patrolling the area heard the reports of the shooting and quickly responded to the scene.
