In the winter of 2016, a violent weekend in Washington, D.C. turned tragic for a young man from Fort Washington, Maryland. Roger Lewis Haggins, a 30-year-old male, was discovered in his car late on the night of Friday, January 8th, suffering from a critical gunshot wound to the head. The grim finding was made in the 2500 block of Pomeroy Road in Southeast D.C., a scene that would soon become the focus of a homicide investigation.
