On February 4, 2014, in Utqiagvik, Alaska, formerly known as Barrow, 13-year-old Luther James Leavitt-Akpik tragically lost his life due to an accidental shooting. The incident occurred in the northernmost city of the United States, a community deeply rooted in Inupiat culture. Luther was laid to rest in Barrow Cemetery, where his memory is honored by family and friends.
