On November 15, 2015, in Douglas, Alaska, 34-year-old Elizabeth K. Tonsmeire and 36-year-old Robert H. Meireis were found deceased in Tonsmeire's condominium, both having suffered gunshot wounds to the head. The discovery was made by Elizabeth's father, John "Kelly" Tonsmeire, who, concerned after not hearing from his daughter, visited her residence and encountered the tragic scene.
