On March 7, 2016, 34-year-old Juneau resident Miranda Ellen Davison died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound outside the Dimond Courthouse in downtown Juneau. Witnesses reported that Davison exited a vehicle near the courthouse, walked to the front entrance, and shot herself in the chest with a handgun. First responders performed CPR at the scene before transporting her to Bartlett Regional Hospital, where she was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
