On the morning of March 7, 2016, a 34-year-old white woman arrived at downtown Juneau's Dimond Courthouse. Just after 11 a.m., witnesses and responding officers said she walked toward the front entrance and shot herself in the chest with a handgun. Medics performed CPR and rushed her to Bartlett Regional Hospital, where she was pronounced dead at 11:37 a.m. Police identified her as Miranda Ellen Davison, age 34, and said no one else was hurt.
