On November 13, 2016, 16-year-old David Grunwald of Palmer, Alaska, was reported missing after failing to return home. His burned Ford Bronco was discovered the following day near the Talkeetna Mountains, intensifying concerns about his whereabouts. Nineteen days later, authorities located Grunwald's body in a wooded area near the Knik River, following a tip from one of the suspects.
