On the evening of August 21, 2024, Kayla Alexandria Warren, a 28-year-old Black female, was at a friend's home in the Germania Park neighborhood of Birmingham, Alabama. An aspiring rap artist known as 'KayWay' or '205KayWay,' she was standing on the porch of the residence located in the 700 block of 30th Street Southwest around 8:05 p.m. when gunfire suddenly erupted.
