On November 2, 2024, 45-year-old Ricardo Pastrana Perez was fatally shot at a Shell gas station near Interstate 65 in Alabaster, Alabama. Alabaster police responded to reports of a shooting and discovered Perez, a resident of Columbiana, deceased at the scene. Authorities confirmed that Perez was neither an employee nor a customer of the gas station at the time of the incident.
