On July 9, 2023, the body of 24-year-old Brandon Marquez Porter was discovered in a wooded area near the 1100 block of Highway 78 West in Jasper, Alabama. The Jasper Police Department (JPD) and the Walker County Coroner's Office responded to the scene, initiating an investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death.
