On April 30, 2023, 40-year-old Erica Shontea Williams was found fatally stabbed in her apartment on 20th Avenue NE in Center Point, Alabama. Responding to a welfare check around 6:30 p.m., Jefferson County Sheriff's deputies discovered her body, initiating a homicide investigation.
