In the quiet, early hours of September 20, 2022, the stillness on Lay Dam Road in Clanton, Alabama, was shattered by the eruption of a house fire. Emergency responders were dispatched at approximately 1:15 a.m. to the residence at 2015 Lay Dam Road, where they were met with a home fully engulfed in flames. After a difficult battle to extinguish the blaze, a grim discovery was made within the charred remains of the house.
Firefighters located the bodies of two individuals inside the home. One was identified as 33-year-old Tiffany Nicole Browning, a White female, and the other as 49-year-old Tyran Lamont Spigner. As investigators began to sift through the debris, a more sinister narrative than a simple house fire began to emerge. The evidence pointed not to an accidental fire, but to a deliberately set blaze intended to conceal a brutal crime.
The subsequent investigation, led by the Clanton Police Department with assistance from state and federal agencies, confirmed these suspicions.
