On the evening of February 27, 2021, 30-year-old DeAndre Antone Carter was fatally shot during an altercation at the A&A Convenience Store on Center Point Parkway in Center Point, Alabama. The confrontation occurred around 10 p.m., and Jefferson County Sheriff's deputies arrived on the scene to find Carter suffering from a severe gunshot wound. Despite life-saving measures attempted by emergency responders, Carter was later pronounced dead after being transported to UAB Hospital.
