In the early hours of April 28, 2021, at approximately 3:54 a.m., Irondale Police responded to reports of a shooting at the Hunter Ridge Apartments, located at 4400 Hunter Ridge Way. Upon arrival, officers discovered 21-year-old Dewarren Lovell Gibson in the breezeway, suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to UAB Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries the following day, April 29, 2021.
