In the winter of 2020, a promising young nursing student's life was tragically cut short in Birmingham, Alabama. Twenty-year-old Desiny Danielle Washington, a female student at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, was fatally shot on the evening of Thursday, December 17, 2020. The incident occurred in a parking lot outside the Hill Student Center on the university's campus.
