On September 3, 2019, the body of 35-year-old Adam Ruben Jason Beard was discovered in Blountsville, Alabama. His remains were found decomposing inside a steel canister behind a residence on Paige Springs Road. An investigation revealed that Beard had been beaten to death with an aluminum baseball bat.
Four individuals were arrested and charged with capital murder in connection with Beard's death:
