On April 4, 2019, 35-year-old Daniel Stockley was fatally shot in the Highland Lake area of Blount County, Alabama. The incident occurred around 6 p.m. on Lakeshore Drive. Deputies from the Blount County Sheriff's Office responded to reports of a shooting and found Stockley lying on the ground with a gunshot wound. He was transported to St. Vincent's East Hospital and subsequently transferred to UAB Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries en route.
