In the late hours of a Tuesday in Milwaukee, the life of 36-year-old Cleveland Holley, an African-American man, was tragically cut short. On August 25, 2015, in the vicinity of the 4100 block of N. 49th Street, Holley was shot during what police described as an attempted robbery. The incident occurred shortly after 10:30 p.m., a time when the city streets were settling into the quiet of the night.
