In the winter of 1973, a grim discovery was made in the quiet woods of Conway-Robinson Memorial State Forest in Prince William County, Virginia. On December 8th, the body of 33-year-old Shirley Leona Washington, an African-American woman from Washington, D.C., was found under circumstances that immediately led investigators to suspect foul play.
