In the quiet, rural landscape of northern Fauquier County, Virginia, a grim discovery was made on March 24, 1981, at a residence on Belvoir Farm. The bodies of 23-year-old Robin Brooks, a Black or African American male, and his housemate, 46-year-old Joan Kenny, were found inside the home they shared. Both had been employed by the farm, and their sudden deaths sent a shockwave through the community.
