A man is brutally attacked and stabbed 45 times
On August 19, 1984, Virginia State Trooper Johnny Rush Bowman was brutally murdered at his home in Manassas, Virginia. The attack occurred at approximately 4:15 a.m. when Bowman answered his front door. He was immediately assaulted and stabbed 45 times by an unknown assailant or assailants. Despite a struggle, during which his two-year-old daughter was awakened, Bowman succumbed to his injuries shortly after being transported to the hospital.
