A woman is found dead in her home
On January 3, 1977, the body of 46-year-old Louis "Doris" Maxfield was discovered in her home in Thetford, Vermont, by a family member. Initially, her death was believed to have been from natural causes, but further investigation revealed that Doris had been murdered. The medical examiner determined that her death was the result of asphyxiation by manual strangulation.
