Eric Walker, a 46-year-old Black man, was waiting for the bus near the intersection of Martin Luther King Boulevard and Clayton Street. It was a routine moment that tragically turned into his last as an unknown individual approached him on foot and fired a gun multiple times.
The sudden eruption of violence left Walker with numerous gunshot wounds.
First responders arrived at the scene shortly after 1 a.m. to find Walker gravely injured. He was rushed to Denver Health, but the severity of his injuries was too great, and he was pronounced dead at the hospital.
