On May 5, 2008, 36-year-old Joel Torres was found deceased in his San Antonio, Texas, residence. The San Antonio Police Department responded to a welfare check after neighbors reported not seeing Torres for several days. Upon entry, officers discovered Torres with multiple stab wounds, indicating a violent assault.
