On July 22, 2008, Yeno Roach, 32, was fatally shot in Houston, Texas. Roach was targeted in what appeared to be a violent incident with no apparent motive disclosed at the time. The Houston Police Department initially had limited information regarding the suspect involved in the shooting, making it challenging for investigators to advance the case. Over time, Crime Stoppers of Houston worked closely with the Houston Police Department to gather information from the community, but progress remained slow due to the lack of eyewitnesses or strong leads.
Years later, the investigation received a break when Juan Gonzalez Jr. was identified as a suspect connected to multiple fatal shooting incidents, including the 2008 shooting of Yeno Roach. Gonzalez was involved in two separate murder cases, one in 2007 and the other in 2008. His arrest in 2024 was the result of a coordinated effort between the U.S. Marshals and the FBI, who located him in Mexico. After being extradited, Gonzalez was charged in both murder cases in the 179th State District Court. This development brought some closure to what had been a longstanding cold case in Houston's homicide records. Authorities have since continued to pursue other leads related to unresolved homicides, working to bring justice to victims like Yeno Roach and their families.
